Mumbai gears up with midnight abhishek, chhappan bhog to mark Lord Krishna’s 5,253rd birthday

Devotees across India are celebrating Shri Krishna Janmashtami on September 4. This auspicious occasion marks 5,253 years since Lord Krishna's divine incarnation. Temples and households are preparing special offerings and rituals for the midnight birth. ISKCON temples in Mumbai are elaborately decorated and preparing large quantities of charnamrit. Union minister Piyush Goyal will visit temples in his constituency on Friday night.
