Mumbai man wrongly billed for cancer surgery; hospital says error, not malice

A Mumbai activist alleged a hospital billed him for cancer surgery he did not undergo. The hospital attributed the billing error to a non-medical staffer's inadvertent human mistake. He was initially charged for a hernioplasty and an omentectomy for cancer treatment. The hospital later corrected the bill after the discrepancy was pointed out by the patient. The activist has lodged complaints with multiple regulatory and health authorities.
