Mumbai scientist wins top prize for rapid mpox testing kit
Dr. Shyam Sundar Nandi, a scientist at the National Institute of Virology, has developed a rapid molecular test that can diagnose mpox in an hour. The test, which uses a detection method called LAMP, provides quick, visual results without the need for complex lab equipment. Dr. Nandi was awarded by India's top medical research body, ICMR, for his innovation.
