New auto, taxi badges: Marathi verification process to be videographed from Aug 20
New auto-rickshaw and taxi driver badges in Maharashtra will now be videographed during verification. This measure ensures transparency in enforcing the mandatory Marathi language working knowledge rule. Drivers lacking proficiency will receive a one-month notice to comply with the new regulations. Failure to meet the requirement can lead to license suspension and permit cancellation. A statewide drive will begin soon to enforce these amended motor vehicle rules.
