NHRC asks Koraput administration for action taken report on tribal couple’s humiliation
The National Human Rights Commission has ordered the Koraput district administration to investigate an alleged public humiliation and inhuman punishment of a tribal couple. A human rights activist complained that a village "kangaroo court" forced the couple to plough a field like bullocks for marrying within their lineage.
