Kolkata Metro's Blue Line now has battery backup. This system ensures trains reach the next station during power outages. Passengers will no longer need to walk on tracks. The Battery Energy Storage System was launched recently. This makes the Blue Line India's first metro with this safety feature. Trials were successful, covering significant distances.
