Odisha plans drug-free zones within 500 metres of all schools, colleges and university campuses
The Odisha government plans to declare a 500-metre radius around schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions, including hostels, as drug-free zones. The proposed initiative will combine regular inspections, campus monitoring committees, student-led awareness programmes and strict enforcement with counselling, medical treatment and rehabilitation support to prevent substance abuse among students across the State.
