Officials told to raise awareness about schemes for transgender persons
The government has launched various schemes for the welfare of transgender people, including self-employment incentives and housing assistance. Deputy Commissioner Vidya Kumari K. urged officials to raise awareness about these initiatives to ensure beneficiaries can access them. Identity cards are being issued to facilitate access to benefits, and discrimination issues were also addressed.
