Onions for Rs 35/kg: Tamil Nadu govt begins sales through PDS shops
In a bid to alleviate consumer stress due to soaring onion prices, the Tamil Nadu government has initiated subsidized sales priced at thirty-five rupees per kilogram. This program, offering nearly nine thousand distribution points statewide, enables each family cardholder to buy a kilogram of onions at the reduced rate. A total of one thousand metric tonnes of onions have been procured from Nashik for this initiative.
