Pawan Kalyan begins 11-day purification ritual
Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan, also the deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, began an 11-day Prayaschitta Diksha to atone for the alleged use of animal fat in the Tirupati Laddu prasadam. Videos of him performing purification rituals have gone viral. Deeply hurt by the controversy, he plans to walk to Tirumala on October 1 and seek blessings at the Sri Venkateswara Temple on October 2.
