Psychology says high-IQ people may not hurt, but can spend longer analysing why they are hurting

Research indicates that higher verbal intelligence can result in greater rumination and worry after experiencing negative emotions. While intelligent individuals may analyze their feelings in multiple dimensions, this can sometimes lead to excessive repetitive thinking. Reflection can lead to understanding, but when it evolves into rumination, it may create confusion. Moreover, cognitive processing does not guarantee emotional regulation, creating challenges in dealing with emotions.
