Pune doctors find ‘forgotten’ stent in man with mystery ache
A 73-year-old Pune man experienced two years of stomach pain and jaundice due to a forgotten stent. Inserted during a 2022 bile duct procedure, the stent was meant to be removed after six weeks, but the patient missed his follow-up. The prolonged presence of the stent led to stone formation, requiring laparoscopic surgery in September.
