Punjab and Haryana high HC warns of disaster if Gurgaon groundwater depletion goes unchecked
The Punjab and Haryana high court expressed concern over the severe depletion of groundwater in Gurugram. The court highlighted that current resource extraction exceeds available groundwater resources almost twofold. Significant drops in water levels in many areas of Gurgaon were acknowledged by the Haryana Water Resources Authority. A high-level meeting has been scheduled to address these groundwater-related issues and formulate measures.
