Rs 26,000 crore Mumbai-Goa Marine Superhighway project begins
After years of delays, the Rs 26,000-crore Marine Superhighway project connecting Mumbai and Goa has officially commenced. Chief minister Eknath Shinde led the groundbreaking ceremony. This 500km route will ease congestion on the Mumbai-Goa highway, featuring seven impressive bridges and linking numerous coastal towns. The project includes expanding existing roads, which will require acquiring some residential and forest areas.
