SSC CHSL 2026: Applications reportedly fall by nearly 49%, with 620 candidates per vacancy
SSC CHSL 2026 has reportedly received 15,71,342 applications for 2,536 vacancies, according to RTI-based figures reported by a website. This represents a decline of approximately 48.8% compared with the 30,69,059 applications recorded in 2025. The applicant-to-vacancy ratio has fallen from around 981 to 620. The 2026 Tier 1 examination also introduces 15-minute sectional timers, with 100 questions carrying 200 marks and negative marking of 0.50 marks per incorrect answer.
