Stranger offers to sell African grey parrot, bilks Bengaluru woman of Rs 30k
A Bengaluru woman lost Rs 30,000 in an online parrot purchase scam. Lured by a lower-than-market price for an African Grey parrot, she interacted with a stranger who claimed to know a seller. After seeing the bird at a pet shop and making a UPI payment, the stranger vanished, and the shopkeeper denied receiving any money.
