Tamil Nadu govt declined Madurai-Thoothukudi rail project: Ashwini Vaishnaw
Tamil Nadu has declined to proceed with the Madurai-Tuticorin railway project via Aruppukottai, as stated by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He emphasized the need for state support in land acquisition for rail development and highlighted safety enhancements like the new bolt design post the Kavarapettai derailment. This decision is despite CM MK Stalin's request for project funding.
