Theatre Review: Gauhar - A rich portrait of a life lived in the limelight
Gauhar is an evocative play that chronicles the life of the celebrated musician Gauhar Jaan, delving into her traumatic childhood and her ascent to notoriety in Calcutta. Girija Oak brilliantly embodies Gauhar, striking a balance between her strength and sensitivity. With a live music backdrop enriching the experience, the production beautifully showcases the vibrant cultural landscape of that era.
