Tragic! 44-year-old former football player dies after drowning in lake
Former Romania midfielder Gabriel Muresan has died at 44 after drowning in a lake near Apold, where he had served as mayor since 2020. The Romanian Football Federation and local authorities paid tribute to him. Muresan earned nine caps for Romania, won three league titles and three domestic cups with Cluj, and played in the UEFA Champions League.
