West Karbi Anglong unrest: 2 dead, DGP & IGP among 50 cops hurt in clash; internet services suspended
Two lives were lost in West Karbi Anglong as protests against alleged encroachment on forest land escalated into violent clashes with police. Hundreds of protesters, armed with crude weapons, attacked security forces, injuring many. The administration suspended mobile internet services to quell the unrest. Talks are scheduled to resolve the land dispute.
