World’s smallest country plans a $117 million solar plant nearly 10 times Vatican City

The Vatican plans a substantial €100 million agrivoltaic energy project outside Rome. This facility will supply electricity needs and advance carbon neutrality goals. The project is being developed on a large Vatican-owned estate near Santa Maria di Galeria. Construction is expected to take between 18 and 24 months to complete. This initiative aligns with the Vatican's commitment to reducing emissions by 2050.
