Loudspeakers not essential part of any religion, says Bombay high court
Bombay High Court directed the state to curb noise pollution from places of worship, stating that loudspeaker use is not an essential part of any religion. The court emphasized public health and dismissed claims of constitutional rights infringement. The order came in response to complaints about loudspeaker use by mosques and madrassas.
