'Acted in public interest': Tukaram Mundhe after Bombay HC orders FDA to pay Rs 5 lakh to Pune sweet shop
Maharashtra FDA commissioner Tukaram Mundhe defends the department's action against a Pune sweets shop. The Bombay High Court directed the FDA to pay Rs 5 lakh and allowed the shop to resume operations. This action was taken after several consumers fell ill due to food poisoning from the establishment. The FDA also inspected 86 online food establishments, issuing notices and suspending licenses.
