Doctors can’t be assaulted at will, says SC, cancels bail for Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre

The Supreme Court has set aside the Bombay High Court's bail order for Ramesh Mhatre. Mhatre faces allegations of assaulting doctors at a municipal hospital in Dombivli. The High Court had initially granted him bail under certain conditions, but this was later challenged by the Maharashtra government. The Supreme Court emphasized the importance of protecting the medical fraternity from such violence.
