Domestic help hired via Facebook sweeps Bengaluru house clean of gold
A Bengaluru couple hired a live-in maid through Facebook, who fled with gold ornaments worth Rs 2.3 lakh after five days. The maid, Devonita Karmakaru, initially refused the position but later agreed. She provided a fake Aadhaar card, and stole the jewelry on December 16. The couple realized the need for employee verification after the theft.
