Kolkata stampede aftermath: Chorbagan Durga idol awaits immersion as pandal turns a crime scene, locals seek to reclaim puja
The idol immersion at Chorbagan has been suspended due to a tragic stampede claiming 19 lives. Although the Special Investigation Team has granted permission for immersion, the pandal is to remain as a poignant reminder. Residents are worried about future arrangements and are planning to take back control of the puja next year, emphasizing self-organization to improve crowd management and community participation.
