Marathi subject mandatory in all schools across boards, says Maharashtra govt after MNS complaint
In response to MNS leader Amit Thackeray's complaints regarding non-compliance, the Maharashtra government has established that Marathi language instruction is obligatory in every school, irrespective of the board or teaching medium. The state education department cited the Marathi Language Act, 2020, which outlines these requirements, and delegated enforcement responsibilities to local education directors.
