Delhi’s slumber after Nirbhaya wake-up call
The Supreme Court has taken notice of crimes against women and minors in Delhi. Following the Nirbhaya case, the Delhi High Court began initiatives to improve safety. Despite initial progress, recent efforts appear to have stagnated since 2023, with limited effective directions issued. There have been multiple delays in the hearings of ongoing public interest litigation related to these safety measures.
