Gir lionesses keep 93% of their kill, finds study
Asiatic lions in Gir National Park exhibit unique hunting behaviors. Females control nearly all of their kills, hunting primarily after midnight. Males, active in the morning, hunt more frequently than their African counterparts, minimizing conflict over food. This contrasts with African lions, where males often dominate kills.
