Mysuru golden howdah is ours, govt can make its own: Pramoda Devi Wadiyar
Pramoda Devi Wadiyar declared that the golden howdah and royal throne are the private property of her family. She stated that the Rs 80 lakh paid by the government was an honorarium rather than rent. The family maintained a longstanding understanding regarding the elephant chosen for the howdah. Pramoda also noted that the family's occupation of the Mysuru Palace is not a government favor.
